What causes sea sickness and the many different options available to cure this dreaded infliction so you can enjoy those beautiful waters.

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of being on a boat in the open sea—the fresh air, the wind in your hair, and… oh wait, the sudden urge to vomit. Sea sickness has existed for thousands of years; our ancestors endured the discomfort and humiliation of sea sickness. Even the great Charles Darwin was afflicted by it.

A Must See Movie

You’ve never seen damage like this. Because no one’s ever shown it — until now.

In a world-first, Ocean with Sir David Attenborough captures the most detailed footage ever filmed of bottom trawling — a brutal fishing practice that destroys everything in its path. Absolutely incredible footage captured. Showing now!

Altena 68 Motor Yacht

Originally launched as the Dutch trawler Vijf Gebroeders, this 65-foot vessel has undergone a remarkable transformation. Under the expert craftsmanship of Altena Yachting, she has been reimagined as a self-sufficient explorer—rugged yet refined, equally at home navigating icy, remote waters or gliding through European canals.

Her recent refit introduced a new level of comfort and functionality. The extended wheelhouse roof now shelters a spacious aft deck, creating an inviting outdoor living area with seating and dining for 8–10 guests. Built-in infrared heaters ensure warmth and comfort, even in colder climates, making it perfect for gatherings under polar skies or along tranquil waterways.

Practical upgrades complement the luxury. A 25-horsepower aft thruster was added, enhancing maneuverability and allowing for confident single-handed docking in challenging conditions. This vessel is a rare blend of heritage, innovation, and adventure-ready design.

These crabs cast bright beams of light with their heads!

Like a crustacean version of X-Men’s Cyclops, the face-banded crab (Parasesarma eumolpe) shoots light from its eyes—or so it seems. The bright beams are actually reflected off green or blue structures on the crab’s heads, scientists report in Ecology. The unique source of rays may help the animals send signals to potential mates or rivals.

Joke of the Week

What did the Sailor say to the computer?
"Aye, aye, byte!"

Recipe of the Week:

Roadkill Chicken

  • 1.5kg whole chicken
  • 4 red chillies seeded/chopped finely
  • 1 T paprika
  • 2 t dried oregano
  • 2 t salt
  • 1 T brown sugar
  • ½ c lemon juice
  • 2 T oil

Wash chicken under cold water; pat dry with paper towel. Using kitchen scissors, cut along both sides of backbone of chicken; discard backbone. Place chicken, skin-side up, on board; using heel of hand, press down on breastbone to flatten chicken. Insert metal skewer through thigh and opposite wing of chicken to keep chicken flat. Repeat with other thigh and wing.

Combine chilli, paprika, oregano, salt, sugar, juice and oil in large bowl, add chicken; spoon chilli mixture all over chicken. Place in zip lock bag; refrigerate 3 hours or overnight. (Can also be frozen at this stage).

Drain chicken; reserve marinade. Place chicken on oiled wire rack over baking dish; pour over reserved marinade. Bake, uncovered, in hot oven, brushing occasionally with pan juices, about 1¼ hours or until chicken is browned and cooked through. Yuuuuuumy!
