Hello Sailors
For many Kiwis, owning a luxury yacht feels like something that’s just out of reach—something for later, or maybe never. But here’s the thing: it’s more accessible than you probably think. With 1/3 or 1/4 ownership of the Absolute 48 Coupé, you get all the enjoyment of a high-end boat, without the full price tag or the full-time hassle. You share the costs with two other owners, and in return, you get guaranteed access, professional management, and the keys to a floating luxury apartment that turns weekends into holidays. This isn’t a timeshare, and it’s not a rental. It’s absolute ownership, just smarter. Talk to us how we can make this happen for you!

Fisheries finds Wellington Men with 1863 Paua, 180 times over the limit
| |
|
Two men have been caught with 180 times the legal limit of pāua in Wellington – an illegal haul, Fisheries is calling one of the biggest in recent times. Fisheries officers were inspecting a vessel that had just landed at Tītahi Bay in Porirua a week or so ago, when they found 1863 pāua on board. The harvest limit is five per person. The two men were “likely to face charges under the Fisheries Act”, Fisheries New Zealand regional manager Phil Tasker said. The case is still being investigated. Fisheries estimated the amount of pāua the pair had was worth about $25,000. All the pāua had already been shucked.

Two young fishermen died when they left a gas cooker grill on to heat their boat. A safety bulletin has been issued to warn boat owners about the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning following two deaths in the UK. Initial findings were that the men were poisoned by carbon monoxide. Before going to bed, the skipper (aged 26) and the crewman (aged 21) had lit the grill of a butane gas cooker fitted in the wheelhouse in order to warm both the wheelhouse and the adjacent sleeping area. When found, the gas grill was still lit and the wheelhouse was full of fumes and the two men were dead in their bunks. The boat was not fitted with a carbon monoxide alarm.

OK, so what do you call your boat?
|
Two boat admirers, Jack and Katie, would lunch most weekends on a marina in California admiring the boats coming and going - and wishing and hoping that one day they might just own a boat themselves. Katie secretly played the stock market; secretly because Jack strongly disapproved. And one day Katie went out and bought a new boat that Jack had often admired. They named the boat 'Katie Did It'. As Jack said, 'when people asked me how I could afford my brand-new boat I had to answer - Katie did it!' This boat was sold into NZ by Yachtfinders Global and although it's been on-sold since it still loves its home in NZ.
