Each week we enjoy bringing you up-to-date local and international news, along with the boats that we proudly represent from Absolute and Selene and a brokerage line-up that we sell here and around the world.

Hello Sailors!

'This week I was approached by a sailor whose brief was clear, precise and explicit. He had been hunting for a boat for some time but without success. A busy gentleman (and a pleasure to deal with), he approached me asking for assistance.

In fine tuning his requirements I was reminded of our exact brief when we set up Yachtfinders Global 28 years ago. 'To search and find a boat globally for any buyer anywhere, and to only sell good quality boats.'

And to this day we still continue to assist those who not only want to sell their boat - but also find the right boat for buyers all around the world!'

Are you up to date with Royal Navy Rum Terminology?

Grog: Traditionally 2 parts water, 1 part rum
Tot: 1/8 pint rum, the standard daily ration
Neat: Rum without water
Sippers: A small gentlemanly sip from a friend’s rum issue
Gulpers: One, but only one, from another’s tot
Sandy Bottoms: To see off whatever’s in a mug when offered by a friend
‘Splice the main brace!’ A double tot for a job well done, or an invitation aboard for free drinks – and to say to a friend, ‘Let’s splice the main brace’ is synonymous with ‘Let’s have a drink!’
The framework is hospitality: Where 3 sippers equal 1 gulp, and 3 gulps equal 1 tot!
Bob’s A Dying: In Nelson’s Day meant a ‘stupendous drunken bash’
A long swig at the Halliards: To ‘tie’ one on!

The boat includes a trailer that has recently been serviced and holds a current Warrant of Fitness (WOF).

It has been consistently maintained, with servicing performed every 100 hours. A comprehensive 10-year service was completed, during which both fuel tanks were removed, pressure-tested, and minor leaks were repaired. Additionally, three brand-new batteries were installed last year
